As the Hacienda celebrates it’s 30th birthday Tapped brings back one of the original, and arguably best, residents the Manchester club ever had grace the decks for our Summer Party on June 23rd @ Queen of Hoxton…
Jon in many ways, came to define the music policy of The Hacienda during the acid house era and was slap bang at the centre of the early days of UK House/Techno music. From these auspicious beginnings he has always been regarded as an adventurous DJ, a view aided in no small part by his mixing expertise and programming skills. His wide musical tastes and ability to work these genres into proper dance floor action marks him out as specialist deck-master, taking his cues from the legends that inspired him, the likes of Francois Kevorkian and Ron Hardy.
Jon has released a stream of recordings and remixes over the last 20 years or more for labels such as Soma, Deconstruction, Rob’s Records, Cleveland City, Mute, and most recently, Rush Hour, with the release in early July 2011 of “Love Is All We Need”. On this debut release for Rush Hour, he teams up with vocalist Donald Waugh and returns to the roots of house music, creating a house classic that never was.
Building upon this success Jon has collaborated with Maceo Plex to produce what is likely to become one of the tracks of the summer ‘Love Somebody Else’… have a listen to the youtube rip below and judge for yourself.
Alphabet City (Much Love)
All round gentleman Rob Fahey will be returning to Tapped for the second time, having blown the windows out of the Horse and Groom in Oct last year, this time stepping in for erstwhile resident Timmy.
It was as a DJ that Rob first earned his stripes, becoming a leading light in the much-discussed Brighton disco revival through his legendary Black Lodge parties. A strictly ‘eyes down’ affair held in a hush-hush central Brighton basement, the monthly Black Lodge bashes are fast approaching legendary status. As a DJ, Rob flits effortlessly between boogie, acid, disco and Italo, keeping his eyes firmly set on the dancefloor at all times.
Residential duties will be in the capable hands of young Slothboogie and KMG…
See you downstairs in the basement

Whilst all this is going on, Yam Who? and the Vaults DJs will be entertaining people in the ground floor bar, and of course if the sun is shining the roof terrace will be a good place to start proceedings and is open from noon….
